Engraving the Grinding Fixture Base and Toolholder
These photos show the setup used to engrave the 360 degree marks on the toolholder used on the tool & Cutter Grinder.  The base was engraved the same way.  The program was very simple, used in conjunction with the programmable Sherline rotary table.  The G-code used a repeat function.  I programmed the cutting depth, and various line lengths manually, and inserted a 1 second delay between "strokes".  I had to manually step the rotary table after each line, so gave it a time delay to move (and me to react).  A carbide engraving cutter was used.  I didn't use a tailstock, since there was not much extending out from the chuck.
