A special arbor was made to hold the flywheels for finish turning and polishing, A piece of 1 1/2" cold-rolled was turned down to .499, and the end was threaded 1/2-13 for the locking bolt. A thick washer was made from the 1 1/2" stock to face securily against the flywheel hub.
The pulley was done on the SouthBend. The reason was because the chuck is smaller, and I was able to secure the pulley nicely from inside the hub, with the jaws reversed. As a result, the entire face could be turned. It was still necessary to reverse it however, to accurately cut the angle for the crown. After turning, the hub, it was reamed to .501
