Various parts of the Timing Gear assembly. The cam, spark advance lever, timing gear with the Teflon insulating ring and bronze bearing, and the bolt and nut that secure all to the engine frame. The steel sleve has been silver soldered to the Advance Lever.
The assembly. Not shown is the contact stud, spring, and insulator, that goes through the hole in the Spark Advance Lever. The Brass "spot" on the Teflon insulating ring is the end of a brass rod that is pressed in through to the brass bearing, and then turned smooth to the Teflon. The Spark Advance Lever still needs some more polishing and buffing.
