This buzzcoil uses the same points as the original "Model T" coils. The battery charge jack and on/off switch are inside the lid, so it more closely resembles the original (only the knurled connections are on the outside of the box). The switch must be in the "off" position - to the left as shown - to enable charging. DO NOT attempt to charge while the buzz coil is operating. It uses the same battery as many model RC type cars, etc, and is easily replaceable. It uses a Tecumseh Small Engine Coil, very robust and provides very HOT sparks. The spark produced is between 3/8 to 1/2 inch - very HOT. The spark should always be "enabled", The high voltage has to go somewhere, and damage to the coil could eventually result if it is either not sparking or grounded.
