Boring the 20 degree taper for the crankshaft..
Checking the fit of the taper   The Dykem will show high spots.  Turns out the fit was great, (angles were close enough).
Next the Thimbol will be made, but it requires some special width grooving tools.  The Cuttermaster allows making precision width tooling easy.
After roughing the shape on a bench grinder, the side relief angle and taper relief are ground.  The tool blank is held in a special fixture I made for sharpening Lathe bits, etc.
Adding a little top relief, so the chips will "curl" out of the groove.
Two special grooving tools, .077" and .118" wide at the tip, to form the grooves in the Thimbol.  They will make good cutoff tools in the future (or grooving as needed).
BORING THE FLYWHEELS, AND MAKING CUTTERS FOR THE THIMBOL GROOVES
AFTER THE O.D. AND FACES OF THE FLYWHEEL WERE TURNED, THE TAPER WAS BORED FOR THE CRANKSHAFT.
